Upcycling - Reciclagem de blusa de lã

Na maior secura prá costurar, foi nisso que deu: conjunto de lã para o pequeno, feito de uma blusa tamanho adulto, lavada em água quente para condensar a lã - super macia! A calça foi feita das mangas e o colete foi feito do corpo da blusa. A malha listrada era uma camiseta, e a malha cinza (corpo da camiseta) era uma calça de yoga de gestante que ganhei de uma amiga querida quando estava grávida - ou seja: todo o material usado é reciclado - AMO reciclar, ou melhor, como se diz por aqui: upcycle, porque o uso final acaba ainda melhor que o primeiro.


Thirsty for sewing machine action, this is what I came up with this week: a wool set for baby. Made from a felted wool sweater, the pants were made using the sleeves, and the vest using the body. The striped jersey was a T-shirt and the gray jersey was a pair of maternity yoga pants passed down to me by a dear friend. I *love* to upcycle!

Usei uma camiseta velha que lhe servia bem, e cortei para fazer dela o molde do colete. Perceba que deixei um pouquinho de espaço na dobra central, para acomodar a dobra (trespasse falso) com os botões que resolvi colocar na frente..

I used an existing T-shirt that fit him as basis for the vest. Notice that I left a little room in the center front, to account for the fold where I wanted to place the buttons.

Depois de lavada em água quente, a lã encolheu tanto que tive que acrescentar um painel no bumbum para servir.  E costurei o cós do lado errado! hahaha! mas com o ponto da overloque aparente nem parece que foi por engano. No final achei que ficou legal.

After felted, the wool shrinked so much that I had to add a panel to the back. And I sewed the waistband to the wrong side. Thankfully, the serger stitches don't look too bad and it doesn't quite look like it was a mistake. At the end I actually liked it.

E como essa semana tá rendendo, depois vou postar mais uns "upcycles".
