Espero que ela goste - I hope she likes it!

Este ano participamos da Operation Christmas Child , e a Srta G e o Tuca estiveram muito ocupados procurando items que pudessem mandar para seus "amiguinhos". Este projeto é muito interessante: pessoas embrulham/decoram caixas de sapatos e colocam dentro presentes para crianças carentes de diversos países. As caixas então são enviadas e distribuidas pela organização Samaritan Purse na época de Natal. Imagina a alegria da criançada! E a alegria nossa também de poder participar! Foi bem legal ver esses dois tentando imaginar o que deveriam mandar.

This year we participated in the Operation Christmas Child, and Ms.G and the the Big Guy were very busy looking for items to send to their “friends”. This is a very nice project: people decorate and pack shoeboxes with gifts for needy children in several countries. The boxes are then sent and distributed by the Samaritan Purse on Christmas time. I can only imagine how happy these kids get when they get their gifts. We were so happy to help, too! It was really nice to see these two trying to figure out what they should pack in their boxes.

Um dos itens sugeridos para doação era camisetas, e eu tinha uma nova aqui que ia fazer um vestido para a Srta G. Ela concordou em mandar para a amiguinha, e pensei: Porque não fazer um vestido então? Já fiz vários vestidos de camiseta prá Srta G. São super confortáveis, duram um longo tempo (quando vão ficando curtos é só usar com legging) e até as camisetas já usadas que ela adora, mas já estão manchadas ou curtas podem virar um vestido novo :) A idéia veio do blog Ruffles and Stuff (excelente blog!!!). E depois de feito o vestido, pensei: e porque não fazer uma bonequinha de pano prá combinar então? Segui o PAP com molde da boneca Black Apple Doll na Martha Stewart.

One of the suggested items to donate was T-shirts. I had a new one here, that I was planning to make into a dress for Ms.G. She agreed we should send it to her friend, then I thought, “Why not make it into a dress, then?” I’ve made several T-shirt dresses for Ms.G and she loves them. They’re very comfortable, last a while (as they get shorter, they can be worn with leggings), and even the worn T’s, that are stained or too short, can become brand new dresses :). The idea came from the blog  Ruffles and Stuff(excellent blog, btw!). And after the dress was finished, I thought, “then why not make a little doll to match?” I followed the tutorial for the Black Apple Doll.
